Life#
Outside of school and work, I enjoy reading, pickleball, badminton, climbing, pool, ping-pong, hiking, social dance, and playing the guitar! I also love doing hackathons with friends and have won or placed in every hackathon I’ve participated in so far.
To me, much of life is about creating, instilling, and immortalizing beauty. It is in that spirit that I pursue photography. You can view some of my photos here.
“I believe that a man should strive for only one thing in life, and that is to have a touch of greatness” — Félix Martí-Ibáñez
I think that the spirit of my life philosophy is tersely captured by the above quote, which I came across in the book The Empire of Pain. While I like the quote, the grand and aspirational must be conjoined with a dab of conscientiousness to stay grounded in reality.
“The thoughts of others
Were light and fleeting,
Of lovers’ meeting
Or luck or fame.
Mine were of trouble
And mine were steady;
So I was ready
When trouble came.” — A.E. Housman
Throughout the years, I’ve tried to collect and curate pieces of text I enjoy.
